Sector rotation

Money is always moving somewhere. Quantora plots all eleven S&P 500 sectors on a relative rotation graph - strength on one axis, momentum on the other - so you can see at a glance which sectors are leading, which are rolling over, and which are quietly turning up before the crowd notices.

Each sector is a SPDR ETF measured against the S&P 500 (SPY). The horizontal axis is 3-month relative return (relative strength); the vertical axis is 1-month relative return (recent momentum). Leading = strong and still rising; Weakening = strong but fading; Improving = weak but turning up; Lagging = weak and falling. Sectors rotate clockwise through these quadrants over time. Breadth is the share trading above their 200-day average. Based on daily prices over ~5 years. Educational only - not investment advice.
