Relative strength

Price alone does not tell you if a stock is winning - beating the market does. Quantora charts the relative-strength ratio against any benchmark, breaks the outperformance down by horizon, and measures how much of the market's upside it captures versus its downside. Leaders and laggards, made obvious.

vs
The relative-strength ratio is the stock's price divided by the benchmark's, indexed to 100 at the start - a rising line means outperformance. Relative return is the stock's total return minus the benchmark's over each window. Up-capture is the stock's average return on benchmark-up days divided by the benchmark's; down-capture is the same on down days. A capture ratio (up divided by down) above 1 means it captures more upside than downside. Based on daily data over roughly five years. Educational only - not investment advice.
